Avocado Margarita

Equipment

  • 1 blender

Ingredients  

  • 1 tablespoon kosher salt
  • 4 lime wedges
  • ½ avocado, pitted and peeled
  • ½ cup tequila reposado
  • 6 tablespoons triple sec
  • 6 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon cilantro, chopped
  •  cups crushed ice

Directions 

  • To prepare the glasses, spread the salt on a plate.
  • Rub a lime wedge around the rim of each glass and dip into the mixture.
  • To make the margarita, add the avocado, tequila, triple sec, juice, cilantro, and ice to a blender and puree until smooth.
  • Pour into the prepared glasses.

Notes

Use a quality blender that can really puree the ice; otherwise, it won’t be creamy.

  • 2 cups strawberries, hulled and chopped
  • 1/2 cup tequilla
  • 1/4 cup Cointreau (or other orange flavored liquor)
  • 1 tbs agave nectar
  • 1/2 tsp Sriracha

(about 2 generous servings)

Instructions

Classic Pickle Margarita Recipe
  • 50ml Blanco Tequila
  • 20ml-30ml Dill Pickle Juice (brine from a jar)
  • 20ml-30ml  Fresh Lime Juice
  • 10ml-15ml Triple Sec or Cointreau
  • 10ml (optional) Agave Syrup or Simple Syrup (to balance acidity)
  • Ice
  • Garnish: Chili salt or salt/Tajín for the rim, and a pickle spear or slice
Instructions:
  1. Prepare the Rim: Rub a lime wedge around the edge of a glass and dip it into a mixture of salt and Tajín (chili-lime seasoning).
  2. Combine Ingredients: Add the tequila, pickle juice, lime juice, triple sec, and agave/syrup (if using) into a shaker.
  3. Shake: Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds until well-chilled.
  4. Serve: Strain the mixture into the prepared glass over fresh ice.
  5. Garnish: Top with a dill pickle slice or spear.
 
Variations & Tips
  • Spicy Pickle Margarita: Add 2-3 slices of fresh jalapeño to the shaker or use hot pickle juice.
